Junior Golf is a sport which teaches....Sportsmanship with the courage to say what is right/wrong….Mental maturity which fosters strategic thinking….and Promotes personal excellence . The lessons that youth learn on the course are ones that they will use for a lifetime. Will they take short cuts or will they do what is right to make themselves successful.

Optimists International sponsors and promotes many successful youth outreach programs. The Optimist Junior Golf Program is an exciting way for volunteers to promote the sport of golf to the youth of your community and to promote the objectives and goals of Optimists and the local club. 

The Optimist International Junior Golf Championships will be held July 26-28 (ages 14-15) & July 31-Aug 2 (ages 16-18) at the PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.   The Iowa District Qualifying Tournament will pay the OIJGC registration fees (including room & board) for qualifying first place finishers in all divisions.  Additional financial assistance for travel expenses subject to available funds.   If a junior golfer qualifies outside of their home District, Optimist International cannot guarantee that their registration fees will be paid should they win that event.
