Girls MOBI 2008

SMALL SCHOOLS RULE THE ROOST IN GIRLS MOBI  

The small school ruled the roost Saturday as champions of the four grade divisions in the Girls Marshalltown Optimist Basketball Invitational (MOBI).

 Clear Creek-Amana won the fifth grade division, Ballard of Huxley was the champion in sixth grade, the seventh grade title went to Dallas Center- Grimes while South Tama roared back from a loss in pool play to capture the eighth grade crown.  

A total of 22 girls’ basketball teams in grades 5-8 competed in games Saturday at the Miller and Lenihan school gyms.  MOBI is sponsored by the Marshalltown Noon Optimist Club in partnership with the Marshalltown Bobcat Booster Club.

 The only Marshall County entry in MOBI, the East Marshall Mustangs coached by Roger Fahrni, captured the fifth grade consolation title.
